QUESTION: Councillor M. Corr

To ask the Manager of the Community department to indicate the timeframe for the completion and opening of the Brookfield Community and Youth facility, to acknowledge that this is an extremely important development in this neighbourhood and that any further delay of this long awaited project will have a significantly detrimental effect on the surrounding community?

REPLY:

The construction of this facility is now complete apart from some minor works that have been identified and a small number of Health and Safety issues that have to be resolved.

It is anticipated to have these outstanding matters resolved very shortly and every effort is being made to have the facility opened for use at the earliest possible date.
