REVISED APPLICATION FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE UNDER THE CAPITAL LOAN AND SUBSIDY SCHEME FROM THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BUILDING CO-OPERATIVES (NABCO) LTD. IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 6 OF THE HOUSING (MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS) ACT 1992 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF 31 NO. DWELLINGS AND A COMMUNITY FACILITY AT KILCRONAN, CLONDALKIN.
At the County Council meeting of 12th November 2007 the granting of a loan in the amount of €6,439,382 under the Capital Loan and Subsidy Scheme to the National Association of Building Co-Operatives (NABCO) Ltd. in respect of the construction of 31 no. dwellings and a community facility at 1 - 11 Kilcronan Place and 42 - 62 Kilcronan Court, Clondalkin was approved.The accommodation will provide for general needs housing with all allocations being made to applicants from the Council's housing list.Work commenced on site in June 2006 and is projected to be completed in February 2008.
A revised loan application has been received from The National Association of Building Co-operatives (NABCO) Ltd. in the amount of €6,634,885 - a difference of €195,503. The increased amount sought is due to price variations in the construction contract and increased design team fees.
Under Section 6 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1992 the granting of assistance under the Capital Loan and Subsidy Scheme is a reserved function of the Council subject to the approval of the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.
Accordingly, the following motion is required:
"That this Council recommends that the application for a revised loan in the amount of €6,634,885 under the Capital Loan and Subsidy Scheme to The National Association of Building Co-operatives (NABCO)Ltd. for the construction of 31 dwellings and a communal meeting room facility at Kilcronan, Clondalkin in accordance with the requirements of Section 6 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1992 be approved."
