MOTION NO. 4

MOTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave

"That the Manager repair/trim the hedgerow along Washington Lane and that he replant and fence this hedgerow that it might stop anti social behaviour in the Lane."

REPORT:

A significant section of the hedgerow along Washington Lane forms the boundary between the road and private residences.  The management of such boundary hedges is generally a matter for the individual property owners but the matter will be referred to the Council’s Roads Maintenance Section for further consideration.  A short section of hedgerow forms a boundary with the open space between Washington Lane and Anne Devlin Drive.  Subject to the agreement of the residents, arrangements can be made by the Parks Department to undertake severe pruning of this section of hedgerow.  The Residents Association should be advised to contact the Parks Department to further discuss the matter.
