QUESTION NO. 2
QUESTION: Councillor E. Walsh
"To ask the Manager to include the vacant spaces outside the Traders St James Road for suitable planting during the next season in order to improve the image of the area which got a small amount of finance to establish a village centre and no other works have been carried out since then?"
REPLY:
Trees which have been planted at this location in the past have been persistently vandalised. It is recommended that plans for further tree planting be put on hold until the ongoing development works on the adjoining site are complete in the hope that the increased level of activity generated when the work is complete would give rise to greater passive supervision of newly planted trees to reduce the risk of vandalism.
