QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"To ask the Manager for the latest report on the Pastoral, Community and Library project for Ballyroan and to state anticipated timescale and costs involved?"

REPLY:

A very successful and informative public meeting was held at the Community Centre on the 19^th November 2007 which was well attended.

The proposals were well received at this meeting and following a presentation by the County Architect and the SEO of Community Services and queries were responded to.

It is now proposed to progress the part 8 process and final drawings are now been prepared for this process.

The costs maybe in the region of €1,000,000 while the timeframe is uncertain as yet as we need to possibly phase the construction to ensure as far as is necessary the services are continued such as the meals on wheels service.
