QUESTION NO. 4

QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"To ask the Manager to give an update report on findings concerning the small strip of open space at Rathfarnham Village adjacent to two apartment blocks referred to at the last November Housing meeting (question)?"

REPLY:

The open spaces separating these apartment developments, Castlecourt and The Laurels, appear to be in private ownership and the necessary enquiries to establish the details of the registered owners have been initiated.

Once the Council is satisfied that they have correctly identified the registered owners, they will contact these owners and any property management companies that may be involved, to make them aware that they are responsible for the proper maintenance and repair of both the boundaries and the open spaces.

The matter is also being pursued with the Planning Department to ensure that the Building Regulations have been complied with, and that the terms and conditions of the relevant planning permissions have been adhered to.
