MOTION NO. 5

MOTION: Councillor M. Ardagh

"That the Manager re-examine the sequencing of traffic at Crumlin Cross. Motorists do not have sufficient time to make a right hand turn from St. Agnes Road to Cromwellsford Road and are fearful that accidents will occur as neither the motorists or pedestrians are best served by the current sequencing. (Ref: Motion 7, TRAC, March 6th, 2007)."

REPORT:

Work is in hand to change the sequence of the signals at the above junction such that each of the side roads will operate separately. In effect, traffic exiting St. Agnes Road will be shown a full green light and a right turn arrow at the same time and will not be held up waiting for a gap in opposing traffic.

It is expected that the above work will be completed in the next three weeks, following which, monitoring of the new arrangements will be ongoing.
