QUESTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave

"To ask the Manager to review the traffic calming roundabout on Anne Devlin Road, taking into account its safety aspect with cars driving straight over the roundabout and cars not giving way as to the highway code?"

REPLY:

The dimensions of this roundabout conform with the Traffic Management Guidelines. Whereas the roundabout is designed to be mountable, it is important that motor vehicles while negotiating the roundabout give way to traffic travelling from the right.

Traffic movements at this roundabout have been examined on a number of occasions and no difficulties with regard to turning movements were noticed during these inspections.
