QUESTION NO. 1

QUESTION: Councillor T. McDermott

To ask the Manager to outline SDCC's policy regarding the availability of defibrillators and the associated training programmes and would he make a statement on the matter?

REPLY:

The SDCC Safety Management System is intended to create a safe and healthy environment for all staff and members of the public using our facilities as far as reasonably practicable. Defibrillators are positioned in 17 SDCC locations including County Hall. It is the policy that an adequate number of staff are trained and certified in the use of defibrillators and that their certification is kept up to date. The number and location of defibrillators will be kept under review. In addition, sufficient staff have been and will be trained in Occupational First-aid at all SDCC locations.
