MOTION NO. 11
MOTION: Councillor E. Maloney
That this Committee supports urgent action by the Roads Department in relation to Ard Scoil Mhuire where ongoing construction work to the rear of the school is posing a serious hazard to the children attending it - this Committee calls for the immediate construction of a pedestrian pathway accross the green open space to allow children walk safely to school.
REPORT:
It has been noted that as part of the refurbishment and extension of the existing school, that there has been a reduction to one access point to the school. The principal has been contacted and asked to provide a management plan for traffic including pedestrian traffic and especially during school drop off and pickup times. On receipt of proposals from the principal the matter will be addressed with the school authorities.
