MOTION NO. 13

MOTION: Councillor C. Jones

This Committee calls for measures to be in place to ease the traffic congestion in the Old Court/Ballycullen area before the completion of the old court development plan.

REPORT:

The approved Action Area Plan provides for significant new elements of roads infrastructure including a new east / west distributor road network and significant improvements to the Ballycullen Road. Most of these elements have been substantially implemented and completed. To further improve the situation, where practicable, measures will be taken to further modify and fine tune existing junctions to maximise the advantage afforded by the newly provided infrastructure. The area will also continue to be monitored by the Council's Traffic Control Centre.
