MOTION: Councillor C. King

"That this Committee calls on the Manager, to arrange for the necessary works to be carried out on the Blessington Road/N81 from The Elms to Kiltalown Cottages to ensure pedestrians can safely walk the Road/Footpaths."

REPORT:

A pedestrian walkway was constructed in 2006 in Kiltalown Park with associated public lighting. Any overgrown hedging which interferes with the walkway will be cut back.

In 2007, traffic signals were provided at the new junction with the new access road to Kiltalown Lane / Hazel Hill. These signals will have full pedestrian facilities. The ESB have been requested to connect the electrical supply to the signals and it is anticipated that this will be provided in early December 2007.
