QUESTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave

"To ask the Manager what funds have been allocated to the refurbishment and enhancement of the green space in Orwell Park and whether a multi annual programme of funding be set aside to re-develop the green space in line with proposals submitted by the Orwell Park Residents Association and will he make a statment on the matter?"

REPLY:

In recent months, a schedule of improvement works to be undertaken on the open space at Orwell has been discussed and agreed between the Parks Department and the Orwell Residents Association. The location is being listed for funding as part of the proposed 2008 Parks Works Programme. It is planned to bring this proposed programme for the consideration of the elected members to the December meeting of the Terenure/Rathfarnham Area Committee.
