MEETING OF TALLAGHT AREA COMMITTEE ( 1 )
MONDAY 15th October 2007
HEADED ITEM NO H-I (9)
COMMUNITY LINKAGE REPORT
The Monitoring Committee of the Tallaght IAP has recommended that a grant under the Community Linkage Funds be issued to a number of groups, as detailed below, in order to maintain their sustainability. This recommendation was made following a review of all the groups that have received Community Linkage Funds prior to the launching of the third phase of the Scheme. The review, carried out by the Community Department, detailed the progress/outcome of the groups and indicates that the Scheme has allowed a series of worthwhile and innovative projects/programmes.
The Monitoring Committee agreed that the sustainability of the following initiatives would be considerably supported by the release of additional funding pending the initiation of the third phase of the Community Linkage Scheme.
1) City Wise daytime education programme - €40,000
2) the Fettercairn Youth Horse Project manager position for two years – €80,000
3) JADD Project Intervention Courses for children - €32,000
It is recommended that the Area Committee agree the additional funding suggested and the launching of a third phase of the Community Linkage Scheme
It is also recommended that this third phase of the Community Linkage Scheme will allow all applicants for funding under the Scheme both new and previous applicants, whether successful or otherwise, to be fully considered by the Assessment Panels appointed.
