QUESTION NO. 4

QUESTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave

"To ask the Manager to give an update regarding the entrance on the Grange Road to the houses between the Priory Estate and the Hermitage Estate.

1. Will the new wall at the entrance be extended towards the Priory estate.

2. Will the safety aspects of Residents accessing the Grange Road by foot and car from these houses be addressed.

3. Will there be a new entrance through the Priory Estate eliminating the dangerous entrance?"

REPLY:

With regard to the above, the situation is as follows;

1. Under the current road scheme, as approved under the Part 10 Process, the wall in question will terminate on the southern side of the entrance (currently subject to a temporary road closure) to 218-231 Grange Road.

2. Under the temporary closure, residents of 218 - 231 Grange Road are using the south entrance to the Priory.

3. An independent safety audit has been commissioned to examine the impact of the new road alignment on the access in question. This audit is not yet complete, but all TRAC Councillor's will be advised when it is complete.
