QUESTION NO. 1
QUESTION: Councillor M. Corr
To ask the Manager the how long the Killinarden/Kiltipper Area Action Plan is valid for as it is nearly ten years old and is an inadequate framework for the existing infrastructure requirements for the Killinarden/Kiltipper Area and will he make a statement on the matter?"
REPLY:
The Killinarden-Kiltipper Action Area Plan was published in September 2000. It is one of a number of Action Area Plans prepared by the Council for new development areas. These set out in greater detail the Council’s requirements for new development, including such factors as density, layout and design requirements, public transport and road infrastructure, community facilities, open space and recreational facilities etc. The Action Area Plan was incorporated into the County Development Plan 2004-2010.
Decisions on planning applications in the area covered by the Action Area Plan are made in accordance with the policies and objectives of the County Plan 2004-2010 and with the details of the Area Plan. From time to time the indicative layouts set out in the Action Area Plan may not be realisable due to changing circumstances. However the broad thrust of the Plan is being implemented in the development of this new neighbourhood.
