MOTION NO.5

MOTION: Councillor K. Warren

'That this Committee supports the use of heavy machinery on roadworks at Embankment road before 11 o'clock as the agreement with residents of the Kilnamanagh estate who met with the contractor and a representative of the Council on Wednesday 19th September and he fulfills his committments to them in relation to the other issues that were raised and the matter be discussed'

REPORT:

Subsequent to representations received from residents in Kilnamanagh there is now ongoing liaison betwen the Council's contractor (Siac/Ferrovial M50 JV), the Project resident Engineer and Representatives of the Tamarisk Residents with regard to the M50 upgrade works.

Works during the night are now only necessary on an occasional basis and these are advised to residents in advance.

As the contractor has now adopted noise reducing work methods for night time working the residents have expressed their satisfaction with these arrangements.
