QUESTION: Councillor M. Corr

"To ask the Manager to review the new road layout on the Blessington Road at its junction with the Hazel Hill Traveller development in terms of safety such as the adequacy of street lighting in the vicinity of the junction, indication of road layout changes on approaching the junction and an assessment of pedestrian safety once the traffic lights are fully operational after this dangerous bend in the road?"

REPLY:

The surfacing was completed on the night of October 13th. It is proposed to erect signage and install lining at this location on Wednesday night, October 17th. following which the power supply to the lighting system will be switched on. Monitoring of the system will take place and any corrections deemed prudent will be implemented.
