An apology for inability to attend was received by Roderick Smyth, Community Forum representative and Councillor R. McDermot.

Minutes

The minutes of the Housing and Social Development Strategic Policy Committee Meeting held on 15^th February, 2007, were proposed by Councillor M. Corr and seconded by Betty Tyrrell-Collard and confirmed and approved as a true record and signed.

Matters Arising

It was NOTED there was no business under this heading.

Motion from Council Meeting 11^th June, 2007 regarding amended legislation to strengthen the role of the P.R.T. Board

F. Nevin, A/Director of Services updated the Committee regarding forthcoming meeting arranged with the D.O.E.H & L.G, and the H.S.E. to discuss issues raised in this motion at the Council Meeting.

Following a discussion to which B. Tyrrell-Collard, Councillors J. Daly, M. Ardagh, T. Ridge, E. Maloney, M. Corr and R. Dowds contributed the report was NOTED it was AGREED that a report re the outcome from the forthcoming meeting(s) be circulated to the Committee for their consideration and feedback would be welcome.

Update on Rental Accommodation Scheme

Mr. F. Nevin, A/Director of Services summarised the report presented.

Following a discussion to which Councillors C. King, R. Dowds, J. Hannon, J. Daly, M. Ardagh, M. Corr contributed Mr. F. Nevin, A/Director of Housing responded to queries raised.

The report was NOTED.

Workshop on Part V Provisions

F. Nevin, A/Director of Housing gave a presentation, summarised the report and highlighted the following points:-

Following a discussion to which Councillors M. Corr, R. Dowds, C. King, M. Ardagh and B. Tyrrell-Collard contributed the report was NOTED and it was AGREED that a workshop would be the best option and most effective and that Councillor M. Corr liaise with the Chair of Planning & Development SPC to agree on a date. Mr. F. Nevin, A/ Director of Services agreed to circulate Draft Document/Strategy as guidelines prior to the workshop.

Report on Anti-Social Behaviour

Ms. Y. Dervan, Senior Executive Officer summarised report.

Following a discussion to which Councillors M. Ardagh, M. Corr and B. Tyrrell-Collard contributed the report was NOTED it was highlighted by Betty Tyrell – Collard that anti-social behaviour appears to have decreased. Councillor M. Corr reminded the Committee of the asb sub-group that was suggested previously to include – B. Tyrrell-Collard; Councillors C. King, M. Corr and Community Forum representative R. Smyth.
