MOTION: Councillor C. Keane

That this committee discuss with the aid of planning advice on how to proceed with a view to setting a last date for submission of the - commencement notice - at McHugh's Shopping centre area St. James Rd Greenhills and if not complied with to reactivate the CPO currently outstanding on this site.

REPORT:

The Planning Department has advised that there is no legislation in place which requires that a proposed development contained in a permission be commenced by a specific date. A planning permission has a duration of five years, beginning on the date of grant of permission, unless otherwise specified.

The developer of the land in question has indicated that he proposes to commence development in late October/early November 2007.
