QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"To ask the Manager to provide an update on the number of Social Housing Units and Affordable Housing Units that have been provided by the Council in the Rathfarnham Area (including Stocking Lane)?"

REPLY:

To date 11 affordable homes have been provided through Part V of the Planning and Development Acts 2000 - 2006 (as amended) in the Rathfarnham Area at Ballyboden Heath, Ballyboden.

Under Part V, negotiations are ongoing for the provision of further affordable homes in Air Park, Stocking Lane and Bolton Hall, Ballyboden.

Since 2004, 20 social homes have been provided through the Construction Programme, in the Rathfarnham area.

Nineteen of the foregoing formed part of the Whitechurch Development Phase 3 and one was a buy back.

Phase 4 and 5 are ongoing and will yield 36 social homes (29 in Phase 4 and 7 in Phase 5).
