QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"To ask the Manager for a comprehensive update on the latest housing development at Whitechurch and the timeline for same?

REPLY:

Work is currently in progress for the construction of 29 homes and a community facility at Whitechurch Phase 4 on lands off Whitechurch Way, to the rear of Grangebrook and Whitechurch Park. The construction of a further 7 homes at Whitechurch Phase 5 on lands at Whitechurch Avenue/Lawn and Grove is also underway.

The projected timeframe for the completion of Whitechurch Phase 4 is as follows: 21 homes to be completed in November 2007 and 8 homes and the community facility to be completed in January 2008.The completion of Whitechurch Phase 5 is also scheduled for January 2008.

With the consent of the builder a site visit can be arranged for members to view the new homes and the community facility closer to the date of handover.
