RESIGNATION OF COUNCILLOR ALEX WHITE

Councillor Alex White was elected to Seanad Éireann on 23rd July 2007. Pursuant to Section 2 of the Local Government (No. 2) Act, 2003 his election to Seanad Éireann disqualifies him from being a member of South Dublin County Council.

By letter dated 10th August 2007 Cllr. White has duly tendered his resignation in accordance with Section 18 of the Local Government Act, 2001.

It is now a matter for the Council to co-opt a new Member in accordance with the procedure set out in Section 19(3) of the Local Government Act, 2001.

Cllr. White’s resignation also creates a vacancy on each of the following committees / statutory bodies:

• Sport, Recreation, Community & Parks SPC
• Transportation SPC
• Dublin Mid-Leinster Regional Health Forum
• Dublin Transportation Advisory Committee
• Local Traveller Accommodation Consultative Committee

Co-option of a new Member and the filling of the above vacancies will be listed on the agenda for the October Council Meeting.
