QUESTION NO. 1
QUESTION: Councillor J. Hannon
To ask the Manager if bin tags are available that are suitable for use by partially sighted or blind persons?
REPLY:
The Council's printer has reported that it is possible to produce a bin tag containing limited information in Braille such as the price of the tag. However, as bin tagshave to be printed in bulk and many months in advance of distribution to shops it will be some time before the Council/local shopswould be in a position to make new tags available to Customers. The Council is keen to make inclusive changes such asthis and will investigate thechanges as part of awider review of documents andpayment methods generally that is underway.
