MOTION: Councillor M. Ardagh

"That the Manager state why the footpaths on Greentrees Road and St. Peter's Road were excavated three times since June and to say why the Council did not encourage the service providers involved to co-ordinate their work programmes which would have reduced the inconvenience experienced by the residents."

REPORT:

Using our new ROADMAP Monitoring System, the Council were aware that Bord Gais were undertaking extensive refurbishment work on their network in the area and used the opportunity to upgrade public lighting and footpath deficiencies at the same time. The work was coordinated, using the contractor, hired by Bord Gais, and all openings in the area are opened once only allowing substantial works to continue, on a sequential basis, with the minimum of disruption.
