COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TERENURE-RATHFARNHAM AREA COMMITTEE (2)
Tuesday 12th June 2007
QUESTION No. 14
QUESTION: Councillor A. White
"To ask the Manager to remove the tree at the back of No. 6 Village Green, Rathfarnham?"
REPLY:
The Environmental Services Dept arranged for the tree in Rathfarnham cemetery to be examined by a tree specialist. The report received by the Council advises that the tree is in a safe and stable condition but that it requires work to remove certain branches or parts of branches. An instruction has been issued to proceed with this pruning. This will involve the crown of the tree being reduced in size by more than ten percent. All deadwood and cracked or hanging branches will be removed. It is not proposed to remove the tree at this time.
