MOTION: Councillor M. Corr

"That this Committee calls on the Manager to review the traffic flow arrangements in the Belfry Estate in Citywest recognising the consistent use of this estate for rat-running from the Blessington Road/Jobstown by speeding cars and joyriders alike - to investigate the feasability of closing off the estate to through traffic as has been done very successfully in other estates in the Tallaght South area."

REPORT:

Belfry Estate is not in the charge of this Council and consequently action of the type proposed cannot be undertaken at the present time as responsibility for roads and services still rests with the developer. The matter will be re-examined when the estate is taken in charge.  It may be noted that traffic calming was provided by the developers during construction of the estate.
