QUESTION: Councillor K. Warren

"To ask the Manager for an up-to-date situation in relation to whats known as Conroy's Lane in Bohernabreena with regard to road improvements for this area and will he make a statement on the matter?"

REPLY:

The Roads Department is in the process of examining measures to improve the junction at Bohernabreena Road /Conroy's lane. This is quite a complex design matter due to the steep gradients of the existing roads and adjacent terrain. To adhere to current design codes in respect of road geometry including gradients, sight lines, visibility, road widths, turning radii, etc, would require substantial land acquisition and earthworks.  Although a suitable alignment satisfying the above criteria has not been identified to date, the Roads Department will continue with its study of the junction.
