MOTION NO 3

MOTION: Councillor J. Daly

That the Manager advise if there was any consideration given to the Motion on the last  Development Plan considering suggestions for Peamount Hospital .

REPORT

A number of Motions were submitted for consideration in relation to Peamount Hospital during the review of the South Dublin County Development Plan 2004-2010. 

Motions were submitted and discussed prior to the publication of the Proposed Amendments to the Draft Development Plan in August 2004. 

Further Motions were submitted and discussed during the final stages in the making of the new County Plan in November 2004.  One of these (Motions No. 30) was passed by Council on 10th November 2004 and was included in the County Development Plan 2004-2010 as Specific Local Objective (SLO) No.47.

SLO No. 47 states as follows:

‘It is an objective of the Council to –

Facilitate the development of Peamount Hospital as a centre of excellence in the provision of a range of high quality health and social care services, seek to retain the TB and chest units and develop the facility as a general hospital to serve the ever expanding population of its catchment area.’

This Council has supported and will continue to support the continued development of Peamount Hospital as a high quality medical facility in the county.
