QUESTION No. 5

QUESTION: Councillor C. Keane

"To ask the manager to provide more durable dog fouling signs at Cypress Downs - the Avenue as the ones erected there disintegrated within weeks and to ask the litter warden to visit the area more regularly to supervise this?"

REPLY:

The Litter Warden visits the Cypress Downs area on a regular basis and will be asked to continue to be vigilant with regard to the issue of dog fouling in this area.

The Council will review the quality of the anti-dog fouling signs currently in use.  It should be noted that the light-weight sign currently in use for this purpose allows the Council to put these signs up in large numbers, due to the relatively low cost of the sign and fixings and the ease with which the signs can be erected.  A more durable sign would involve a higher cost, which in turn may limit the provision of such signs around the County.
