QUESTION: Councillor M. Árdagh

 "To ask the Manager to remove the graffiti from the walls adjacent to the shops and car park on Taylor's Lane?"

 REPLY:

The Litter Warden for this area has been asked to inspect the graffiti at this location and to take action as appropriate to have it removed.  Any graffiti on private property in the area is the responsibility of the property owner, and the warden will pursue the property owners to have such graffiti removed.  Where graffiti removal is not carried out as requested the Warden will enforce the Litter Pollution Act 1997 to ensure that the matter is resolved.  Any public areas affected by graffiti will be added to the programme for graffiti removal currently being dealt with by the Council’s graffiti crew.
