QUESTION 18
QUESTION: Councillor J. Neville
" To ask the Manager to have arrranged a resolution of the issue of dampness in a bedroom and hall at details supplied (Details supplied) as outlined in a number of e-mails to the Housing Department?."
REPLY
The house in question has on several occasions been inspected with regard to complaints about dampness in bedroom.
Most recently the area Clerk Of Works inspected the house and using a ' Moisture Meter ' checked the house and established that the house itself is nor suffering from a a dampness problem.
He did identify condensation in the bedroom and advised the tenant that the problem is arising due to poor ventilation , particularly at night , and over furnishing of the room which inhibits agequate air circulation.
The tenant was given guidance with regard to prevention of condensation and advised to ensure furnishing and storage in the room were reduced and to facilitate good air circulation and ventilation at all times but especially at night when the room is occupied.
If the tenant follows this advice the condensation problem will be solved.
