MOTION: Councillor S. Laing

"That the Manager further examine the bollards at the entrance to Glendoher Drive from Taylors Lane as there are complaints that motor bikes are being driven at speed which is a threat to children in the area .Could the Manager close off the motorbike usage and allow only a pedestrian access,and could the work be carried out in conjunction with the Taylors Lane project."

REPORT:

Motorbike/Cyclist usage of Glendoher Drive from Taylors Lane was closed off in 2005 by the installation of Bollards with concrete plinth infills. It would be the view of the Roads & Traffic Department that current arrangements are adequate subject to enforcement, and that any additional restrictions would have an adverse effect on pedestrian movements.
