REPORT ON PROPOSED HOUSING SCHEME AT WHITESTOWN STREAM

As agreed with the members of the Area Committee at their meeting on 19th February 2007, an informal meeting with the members on the proposals being developed was held on 26th February 2007. While the presentation was primarily focussed on the future maintenance and management of the proposed scheme and how this could be achieved through a management arrangement with a suitably qualified voluntary housing association, a preliminary concept based on the presentation made in 2006 by the then County Architect was also reviewed.

It was agreed in the course of the informal consultations that a final recommendation will be placed before today's  meeting of the Area Committee which would note the propsed maintenance and management regime; approve the involvement of the voluntary housing sector; agree the principles of the proposed scheme as outlined during the informal consultations and approve the commencement of the design process and the commencement of the consultation process with local stakeholders.

A further report will be made to the Area Committee in due course
