QUESTION: Councillor E. Walsh

"To ask the Manager if he is aware of the dumping of domestic rubbish in black plastic bags at the car park gates of Tymon Park on Limekiln Road and to ask what measures can be taken to stop this activity?"

REPLY:

The entrance gates area to Tymon Park on the Limekiln Road is regularly patrolled by the Litter Warden.  Any deposited bags are inspected for evidence with a view to issuing fines or initiating prosecutions under the Litter Pollution Legislation.

The Cleansing Unit or Parks Department (depending on location of litter) are notified of the need for clean ups of the area as necessary.

In the past two weeks bags containing empty beer cans and bottles have been inspected and removed from the area.
