QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"To ask the manager to provide additonal litter bins between Orlagh Roundabout and Superquinn , a pedestrian route utilised by hundreds of people and children on a daily basis?"

 

REPLY:

A  review of cleansing services is expected to be completed in approximately two moths time. No additional litter bins are being installed pending the completion of the review which, inter alia, will establish what additional capacity exists for servicing of new litter bins. 

When the cleansing review is completed all requests for additional litter bins throughout the County will be examined and a priority list will be drawn up of the areas where additional bins would contribute to the general level of cleanliness which is desirable. The area mentioned in the Motion will be included in the list.
