COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TERENURE-RATHFARNHAM AREA COMMITTEE 1
Tuesday, March 06, 2007
MOTION No. 14
MOTION: Councillor C. Keane
"That the Manager include Moyville Estate in the ramping programme. There are two key areas in the Estate, which would urgently require ramps. The first being the road along houses 1-27, which leads into a cul de sac. This road bears the brunt of the speeding traffic as it is in continuation of the entrance hill. The second area is the first turn right at the top of our entrance hill, along houses 251-221. The residents association would still like the whole Estate to be considered Traffic Calming."
REPORT:
In response to a large number of requests for traffic calming measures throughout the Council’s administrative area the Council’s Transportation Strategic Policy Committee at its meeting on the 11th May 2006 adopted a new Traffic Calming programme comprising of four schemes in each of the Council’s five electoral areas. The selection of each individual scheme will be made by the relevant Area Committee.
Moyville Estate is included on the traffic calming request list for the Terenure Rathfarnham Electoral Area.
To assist the Committee in selecting the 4 new schemes the traffic calming request list is being examined with a view to creating 4 scheme areas. It is anticipated that this review will be completed prior to the April meeting of the Committee.
