QUESTION No. 10
QUESTION: Councillor T. McDermott
"To ask the Manager:
- Why has the Council painted yellow lines on Brook Vale Road
- What is the purpose of this parking control measure
- What are the times and the rules that now apply to those parking on Brook Vale Road
- As the local residents now no longer have on street parking facilities for visitors, does the Council have any intention to provide an alternative ?"
REPLY:
The double yellow lines in question have been installed as part of the On-street Parking Control Scheme for Rathfarnham Village, the overall purpose of which is to regulate and control the parking of vehicles in the village centre and adjacent areas. The various measures included in the scheme, including the installation of double yellow lines at the above location, were subject to public consultation and are provided for in the Parking Bye-Laws as approved and adopted by the Council in 2006.
