QUESTION: Councillor M. Árdagh

"To ask the Manager to provide additional public lighting at each side of the junction of Wainsfort Road and Wainsfort Avenue as the lighting is very poor at this location and is a hazard for the many elderly residents crossing the road at this junction?"

REPLY:

An inspection by Public Lighting staff on the 9th February found that there is a light (P19) at the junction of Wainsfort Road/Wainsfort Avenue.  It is not considered that the installation of an extra light, at this location, is an urgent necessity at this time and there is no provision in this year's estimates to upgrade the existing lighting on Wainsfort Road. However the situation will be monitored.
