QUESTION: Councillor M. Corr

"To ask the Manager to outline what procedures come into force when grass verges at the front of houses have been destroyed due to the consistent parking of vehicles on them and when the verges have not been reinstated by the owners of the vehicles doing the damage?"

 

REPLY:

It is illegal to park on grass verges and is, consequently, the responsibility of the Gardai to enforce. Having said that, the Council are obliged to maintain verges and resources are assigned to this task on a continuous basis. We discourage parking on verges but the problem is continuous and ongoing as the car ownership in houses increases.
