QUESTION: Councillor M. Corr

"To ask the Manager to state why despite previous requests to have graffitti removed from properties in Swiftbrook, De Selby, Montpelier etc ( please refer to previous questions) this litter offence has not been addressed?"

REPLY

The Litter Warden for the Tallaght area has spoken on a number of occasions to the residents whose properties have been affected by graffiti in the areas mentioned.  The Warden reports that he has experienced difficulty in having graffiti removed where the type of boundary wall is not suitable for the painting out of graffiti. 

 

The Warden will consider arranging for the graffiti to be removed from the properties in question and if necessary will serve notice on the owners under Section 20 of the Litter Pollution Act 1997 indicating that South Dublin County Council proposes to recoup the cost of the work from the property owners.
