QUESTION: Councillor C. Keane

"To ask the Manager to report on my request to have a plastic 'compressor' installed at the recyclying bank in Tymon Park, and to ask also if a plastic recycling bank could be located at Kimmage Manor Mission Institute - it only accepts glass at present?"

REPLY:

The Council is currently examining the area of plastic recycling in order to improve and increase the opportunities for the public to recycle, whilst having regard to possible future developments which are envisaged in the Waste Management Plan for the Dublin Region 2005-2010 for plastic recycling. This examination includes the possible role of plastic ‘compressors’.

The recycling site at Kimmage Manor Mission will be examined as to its suitability regarding the location of a plastic recycling bank.
