a) Proposed Disposal of Affordable Housing
PROPOSED DISPOSAL OF AFFORDABLE DWELLINGS
Under Section 94 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 (as amended) South Dublin County Council prepared a Housing Strategy. One of the key purposes of the strategy is to identify the overall need for affordable housing in the area of the County Development Plan and to ensure that South Dublin County Council provides for the development of affordable housing. To date, the Council has been successful in acquiring affordable housing units for eligible applicants through:-
(a) Part V of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended)
(b) The development of public private partnerships/joint ventures.
(c) The Integrated Area Plans in tax designated areas.
The Property Path have sold 612 affordable homes since the commencement of all programmes.215 affordable homes are currently being sold under the AHI programme
In order to comply with the requirements of Section 211 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 (as amended) and Section 183 of the Local Government Act, 2001 it is recommended that the Council dispose of 5 properties in Rath Geal, Clondalkin and 6 properties in Thornfield Square, Clondalkin to the eligible applicants (as per the attached schedules) in accordance with the affordable housing scheme as adopted by the Council in April 2003. It is also proposed that the common areas in Thornfield Square (schedule available at the meeting) excluding public open space be disposed of to the named Management Company.
It is also proposed to amend resolutions minute no. c/0706/06 dated 11/12/2006 regarding the applicants set out in the second schedule hereto.
The consent of the Council is sought for the disposal of these properties to eligible applicants.
