Filling of Vacancy on Local Traveller Accommodation Consultative Committee

“The Local Traveller Accommodation Consultative Committee was established by the Council in 1999 in accordance with the requirements of the Housing (Traveller Accommodation) Act, 1998 and comprises members of the council, local Travellers, representatives of Traveller bodies and council officials. There is currently a vacancy on the Committee in the Traveller bodies strand.

At a meeting held on 30th November 2006 the LTACC was informed that Ms. Orla McCaffrey had resigned from the committee and that Tallaght Travellers Community Development Project (TTCDP) proposed to nominate Mr. Glen Keating as a replacement for her.  The LTACC noted this proposal and agreed that the name of Mr. Keating would be forwarded to the County Council for appointment to the committee. 

As the making of appointments to the Local Traveller Accommodation Consultative Committee is a reserved function of the Council the following resolution is required:

 “That South Dublin County Council hereby resolves that Mr. Glen Keating, C/O Tallaght Travellers Community Development Project be appointed to fill the existing vacancy in the Travellers Bodies strand of the Local Traveller Accommodation Consultative Committee in accordance with Section 22(3) of the Housing (Traveller Accommodation) Act, 1998.”
