QUESTION: Councillor J. Neville

" To ask the Manager to have arranged the provision of litter bins at the entrance to the Dodder Park (opposite Aherns Pub) as a matter of urgency and will the Manager please note that the recent cleanup  of the perimeter of the Park, organised by this Council would indicate that there is a litter problem at this location?"

The request for additional litter bins at the entrance to Dodder Valley Park from

Old Bawn Road

has been examined by the engineer in charge of the cleansing section.  The engineer reports that it is not possible to service litter bins at this location due to traffic flows in the area and the absence of a facility to allow the servicing vehicle to pull in off the main road and away from the flow of traffic.  Unfortunately it is not possible to install new litter bins at the location in question for this reason.
