Firing Range at Aughfarrell, Brittas

A complaint was first received by Planning Enforcement in relation to a Firing Range at Aghfarrell, Brittas in September 2005.  Following investigation, a Warning Letter pursuant to Section 152 of the Planning & Development Act 2000 was served on the owner and occupier on 24^th October 2005.  Submissions in response to this Warning Letter were received in December 2005.

Further inspections were carried out and an Enforcement Notice pursuant to Section 154 of the Planning & Development Act 2000 was served on the owner and occupier requiring:-

The removal of the 3no. steel containers from the lands

The cessation of the use of the lands as a pistol/rifle firing range

The restoration of the lands insofar as is practicable to its condition which existed before the unauthorized development took place

It is considered that the use of the lands along with the development works carried out on the lands does not have the benefit of planning permision.  A decision on further enforcement action in this regard will be made shortly.
