QUESTION: Councillor K. Warren

“To ask the Manager to state his plans as part of the redevelopment in terms of additional apartment development on the area of land directly fronting on to the Tallaght By-Pass, if the existing footbridge will be renovated as part of this development, when will the construction begin, and the likely time for when this footbridge will not be able to be used by residents in the area, and what additional measures would be put in place to provide for pedestrian safety from the St. Dominic’s area through Tallaght Village, and if he will make a statement on the matter?”

REPLY:

As part of the development of the old Iceland site the Developer is conditioned to replace the existing pedestrian bridge over the N81. The Developer is to contact the Council to agree a traffic management plan. This plan will include measures to provide for pedestrian safety during construction of the new bridge.
