QUESTION: Councillor C. King

"To ask the Manager, to provide either an additional lampost or a stronger bulb at the lampost adjacent to the ramp/pedestrian crossing between Tallaght Garda Station and the Square as visibility is very poor at this location at night and the safety of pedestrians is being put in jeopardy?"

REPLY:

Replacement of existing poles which are becoming dangerous will take precedence in 2007.  Improvement of the existing lighting system will be carried out in emergency cases.The location will be examined to determine its priority. The condition of the adjoning roadside trees will also be examined as judicial pruning may help the location.
