QUESTION: Councillor E. Walsh

"To ask the Manager to outline the time-table for refurbishment of Pearse Brothers Park and will he make a statement on this issue as best he can?"

REPLY

The Housing Department is at present finalising a survey of the housing needs of the residents of the Pearse Brothers Park and Palmer Park maisonettes. On completion of the survey, an analysis of the information gathered will be carried out to inform the design brief. The recommendations of the members will also be incorporated into the design brief. The completed brief will direct the design approach by the Councils Architects Department. As requested by members, a presentation of the progress on the proposals will be made to the February 2007 meeting of this Area Committee. 

 

As previously indicated the refurbishment of the maisonettes in Pearse Brothers Park can only take place on a voided basis. As an integral element of the consultaions at present underway the preferred options of the existing residents are being determined. It is intended to meet these options as far as practicable. Subject to the approval of the Area Committee it is anticipated that the statutory Part 8 process will begin towards the end of the first quarter of 2007.
