MOTION: Councillor M. Corr

"That this committee calls on the Manager to carry out a review of footpaths in the Rathcoole/Saggart area with a view to providing decent and safe access to the many walkways and underused tourist/leisure opportunities in this area.  To ask the manager to improve existing footpaths and to provide footpaths where they are currently lacking on walking routes that are used informally at the moment."

REPORT

A review of footpath needs, adjacent to public roads, in the Rathcoole / Saggart area will be carried out by Road Maintenance, as requested. All identified repairs and new paths will be considered for inclusion in the 2007 work programme subject to prioritisation and availability of resources. The query with regard to appropriate footpath availability, on walking routes and open spaces, will be referred to Parks Dept. for consideration.
